Not sure when this feature appeared in MS Office, but I noticed an Export to Excel entry on my context (right click) menu in IE recently. It seems to just appear when you click on a table ... and it works very well. A simple idea but very useful if you want to get web page data into a more manageable format.
(I'm using Excel 2003 but I it could also be a feature in Office XP).
